In an attempt to prevent the total collapse of the Model Basic School, the College management has taken bold steps to resuscitate the school. This was disclosed recently when the administration of Model Basic School paid a visit to the College Provost and his management team in his office.

The Provost said concerted efforts have been on to engage good external hands in running the school on concession for a period to bring it back to its past glorious name.

Dr. Yusuf, who sympathised with the teachers especially the nonpayment of their salary for a very long time, blamed the teachers for their long silence while the situation in the school degenerated. While canvassing for more synergy between the school and the college management, he appealed passionately to the teachers to exercise patience with a promise that a better future awaits them in the school.

Earlier the head teacher, Mrs. Oyekale Elizabeth Shade said that they are around to raise issues bothering on salary, and sundry items like their conditions of appointments and other promises earlier made by the College management to alleviate their suffering and improve on the standard of the school.

In a swift reaction to the issues raised by the delegation, the Registrar of the College Mr. A.A. Ibrahim disabused their minds from the impression that the College is not responsive to their plights. He assured them that as things improved, a lot shall be done in the right direction to ensure better working condition and attend to their demands.

In his contribution, the Deputy Provost Administration, who is also the Chairman of the Schools’ Management Committee Dr. M.B. Taiwo stated that, though lots of issues were presented to his committee, the issues raised cannot be entirely tackled at a time. Hence, the prioritization of most hard ones based on the agreement between the board and staff shall be considered and attended to. it is based on such contracts that the College management is currently addressing issued in the school with a view to putting lasting solutions to the problems Taiwo said.
