The attention of the Kwara State College of Education, Ilorin authority has been drawn to the recent malicious, inciting and unguarded press reports credited to a body insinuating that the State Government under the leadership of Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed is using the College management to demand for illegal fees from students before they can write exams.
This fabricated statement is capable of causing political crisis in the state, incite the students against the management and capable of puncturing the age long peace enjoined in the College and by implication the State as a whole, especially at a time when all hands must be on deck towards making sure that the forth coming general elections in the country and the state in particular are hitch-free.
The governing council, management, staff and the entire students of the College, condemned this unguarded, malicious and inciting press statement coming from such body in the state. It is highly condemnable in an unequivocal term.
The press statement is not only untrue and fabricated, but a figment of their imagination and of course a deliberate plot to cause disunity and disaffection between the students, the management, and cause disharmony in the State of harmony. This is an attempt to score cheap, unsolicited political popularity and votes in the forth coming general elections in the state.
To put the records straight, the recent demonstration by our students was as a result of disagreement on issues of examinations clearance which is purely internal problems. These have been resolved and exams will soon continue.
The College authority appealed to this body in the state to desist from dragging the College's reputable name into disrepute through the use of the media for personal interest.
Signed
