The Honourable Commissioner for Tertiary Education, Science and Technology, Barrister Abdullahi Alikinla has commended the Music department of the College for their outstanding performance in the concert recently held in the College
The Dance drama with “The Ancient pot” as its theme was approved by the Academic Board of the College as part of the requirements for the final examination of graduating students in the department. A chief lecturer in the department, Dr. Z.A. Adesokan commended the Head of the Department, Mr. Leke Joel for his untiring effort to take the department to greater heights. He equally charged the students to do more saying there was room for improvement.
Earlier in his speech, the commissioner expressed optimism that the music students have the potential to positively launder the College and the state image at large if the tempo is maintained. He added that such performances if properly handled, is capable of improving Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) in the College. He charged the students to always inject wisdom into their performances.
While, speaking at the occasion, the external examiner who is also a Professor of Music from the department of performing arts, University of Ilorin Professor Ikibe commended the College leadership for encouraging academic excellence in the College especially in the music department. He applauded the students for having done a fantastic job in their presentation and choice of the theme, the “Ancient Pot”.
The performance had in attendance, parents of the performing students, Deans, Directors from the College,Governing Council Chairman’s representatives, college staff, students and the public.
