The Executive Secretary of the National Commission for College of Education, Prof.Aliyu Muhammadu Bappa has described the Nigeria Certificate of Education (NCE) as a vital stage in the educational development of Nigeria. This assertionwas made when the Provost of Kwara State College of Education, Ilorin Dr. AbdulRaheem Yusuf paid him a familiarisation visit to commissions as part of his visits to commissions and agencies that have links with the college. The Executive secretary noted that the NCE curriculum is tailored to train teachers that takes care of the Basic Education unit of our education system hence if they are not well trained we may not get it a night.
While describing Kwara, as the cradle of NCE in Northern Nigeria, he said the state had produced educators at different levels this, it can do but to produce better teacher.
Pro. Bappa, in his congratulatory speech to the Provost, implored his to work harder to stay stop noting that getting to the top is not as difficult as maintaining the status. He promised to cooperate and partner with the Provost to ensure that good products emerge from the College. In his response the Provost Dr. AbdulRaheem Yusuf who described the Executive Secretary as the Provost ofprovosts promised not to fail the Executive Secretary in particular and the commission in general.
He equally now the opportunity to put forward some requests to the Executive Secretary who promptly granted some and promised to look into the others.
In the provostentourage were the Registrar Alh. Ibrahim A. Abiodun, the Deputy Registrar in the Provost office and Head of Corporate Affairs Unit Mr.Lawal, S. Abayomi, SAR Senior establishment Mr.Jubri Jumada.
