The Provost, Dr. AbdulRaheem Yusuf has described the nation's youth as the bedrock of the solid foundation required for a greater tomorrow. He made the assertion this morning, at the College multimedia centre while declaring open a thirteen- week intensive training on WEB application and development sponsored by the Third Estate, a non-governmental agency in the Ilorin Emirate.
While congratulating the Third Estate for protecting the future of the Emirate in particular and the nation in general, Dr. Yusuf enjoined the participants to take advantage of the opportunity offered them to develop themselves in order to be able to face the ever-increasing need for computer proficiency.
In his own words, Mallam Ibrahim Shuaib, the representative of the Third Estate described the organization as a body of professionals that engages in programs such as school renovation, purchase of books for libraries, digging of boreholes and other activities aimed at improving people of the Emirate.
He said their choice of COE, Ilorin for the training was based first on the enabling atmosphere created by the College and the availability of both human and material resources required for the training in the College.
He expressed satisfaction for the professional and expert opinions rendered by the Directorate of Computer and Information Technology of the College. Shuaib advised the participants to take attendance serious because apart from the knowledge to be derived, his organization expects them to be able to train others at the end of the thirteen weeks.
