In line with academic culture in Kwara State College of Education to officially welcome, introduce and inculcate into the newly admitted students the rules and regulations guiding their stay in the college, the Students' Affairs Unit of the College held a one-day orientation programme for the 2023/2024 academic session.
The Ag. Provost, Dr. Ayinde Shehu Jawondo, appreciates God Almighty for the gift of life, and for allowing the students to make it this far, as many of their age could not due to one reason or the other. He therefore congratulated the students urged them to conduct themselves and wished them success in their academic pursuits.
In the same vein, the College Registrar Hon. Yakubu Mohammed Abdullah centered his address on rules governing the students' operations in the college about their studentship. Stressing that the students should get themselves familiar with the students' handbook as the college is not a Banana Island where there are no rules. Hon. Yakubu urged the students to conduct themselves in a civilized and educated manner.
The Deen students affairs Dr. Isiaka Onagun, who refers to the unit as students' family house stressing that the students are free to come in any time to express whatever problems, challenges or grievances and lasting solution will be proffer.
Other lecturers at the event are the Ag. Chief Security Officer ably represented by Mohammed Sawe spoke on safety and maintenance of law and order, the HOU Clinic, Mrs. Balogun also assured the students of their wellness as well as Director Directorate of Exams who was represented by Mrs. Balogun educated the students on various actions the College Classified under Examination malpractice and its repercussions.
At the end all students were required to dress corporately for the lecture rooms and there are particular kinds of clothes that are not allowed on the school premises said Mrs. Johnson Komolafe.
