Dr Jimoh Ahmed Ayinla was born on the  23rd day of August 1960, into Jatto Family, Agaka, Ilorin West, Kwara State.

Jimoh Ahmed Ayinla obtained a Grade II Teachers Certificate from Ilorin Teachers Training College in 1982. He also obtained the Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE) from Kwara State College of Education Ilorin in 1986, and bagged a Bachelor of Education B.A. (Ed) Social Studies from the University of Ilorin in 1992. 

Not one to rest on his oars, he went on to bag Master Degrees in Public Administration (MPA); Educational Management (M.Ed), and Peace & Strategic Studies from the better by far University of Ilorin in 1998, 2004 and 2010 respectively.

His quest for knowledge led him to obtain an MPhil. in Peace and Strategic Studies from the University of Ilorin in  2013.

Dr Jimoh Ahmed Ayinla crowned his search for knowledge and expertise with a PhD in Peace and Strategic Studies from the University of Ilorin in 2020.

The young Jimoh Ahmed Ayinla started his work experience at the Kwara State Teaching Service Commission, where he worked as a Class Teacher at several schools: Army Day Secondary School, Sobi, Ilorin (1987-1996); Sheikh AbdulKadir College, Ilorin  (1996-2001), Government Secondary School, Jebba (2001), and Government Day Secondary School, Adeta (2001).

He joined the Kwara State College of Education (COED), Ilorin in 2001 as a Lecturer, and rose through the ranks to become a Chief Lecturer at the Social Studies Department of the College in 2016.

He has served in various administrative and College community service positions:

  • Member Model Secondary School Management Board (2005-2009),
  • Member College of Education Sport Committee (2005-2021),
  • Chairman Educational Committee Aminat Ajibike Memorial Group of Schools (2004-2021),
  • Chairman, Loan Committee (KWSCOEC CTSU) (2002-2009)
  • and President, Kwara State College of Education Cooperative and Thrift Society (2015-2018).

Dr Jimoh Ahmed Ayinla has attended and made paper presentations at several international, national and local conferences, workshops and seminars (see the detailed list: Publications of Dr. A.A. He attended and participated actively in a one-week International Conference on “Fostering Quality Teaching in Higher Education Institutions – Policies and Best Practices" held in Birmingham, United Kingdom, from 30th-6th June 2016.

He has published many International and National Journals and Authored many standard Textbooks.

Dr Jimoh Ahmed Ayinla is an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria (CIPM).

He is the father of the ex Kwara State Commissioner for Education and Human Capital Development, Hajia Ahmed Fatimah Bisola, and former General Secretary of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), Ilorin Branch, Engr. Ahmed Lekan Kazeem Jatto.

Dr Jimoh Ahmed Ayinla is a football lover. He is married with four children.

Before his appointment as the Acting Provost of Kwara State College of Education, Ilorin on Friday 21st May 2021, he was the Deputy Provost (Administration) of the College.
