SANDWICH PROGRAMMES
Adequacy of the Scale for Sandwich Programme
There are five contact sessions in the Programme, with each session lasting ten weeks. A 50-weeks Sandwich Programme is equivalent to the 84-weeks Regular Programme in contacts because:
i. There are more lecture contacts in the Regular Programme.
ii. The Sandwich Programme of 50 weeks excludes the 12-weeks of Teaching Practice, which is inclusive of the 84 weeks of the Regular Programme because the sandwich students are observed for teaching practice in their respective schools.
iii. The syllabuses being used for the two programmes are the same only that for the Sandwich programmes, a three year curriculum is broken into five years.
iv. There are occasional assignments in between the contact sessions in all courses. This is part of the continuous assessment of 40%.
