TRANSITION FROM PRE-NCE TO NCE I
To qualify for transition from Pre-NCE to NCE I candidate must:
i. Have participated in the Pre-NCE academic programmes for two semesters.
ii. Obtain a terminal CGPA of not less than 1.50
iii. All Pre-NCE examinations must be externally moderated.
iv. Satisfy other government extant rules on Admission e.g. PCE, JAMB.
v. Where candidates fail to qualify for transition, the College may at its discretion allow for repeat, but not more than once.
vi. The College arranges the Pre-NCE programmes in such a way that the candidates registered for minimum of 18 credits and maximum of 24 credits per semester.
vii. All Pre-NCE candidates are required to register and attend lectures in English and Mathematics as appropriate to their programmes.
Pre-NCE Science and Vocational Subjects
i. WASSC/NECO SSC and GCE (O/L) with at least four passes in English Language, Mathematics and two other Science-related subjects or
ii. Teachers’ Grade II Certificate with passes in English Language, Mathematics/Arithmetic processes, General/Integrated Science and any other science related subjects such as Health Science, Agricultural Science, Applied Biology, Home Economics etc. or
iii. WASSC/NECO (SSC), GCE O/L with four passes at a sitting or five passes at two sittings including English Language, Mathematics and other relevant science subjects.
iv. Federal Craft Certificate (FCC) with passes in four academic subject including Mathematics Science, English Language and Social Studies.

Pre-NCE Technical
i. WASC/GCE (O/L), SSC with at least four passes at a sitting or five passes at two sittings including English Language, Mathematics and any 2 other subjects in the Technical area.
ii. City and Guilds Certificate with at least a pass grade in Mathematics, English Language, Physics and Technical Drawing or
iii. WASC Technical/Craft/Intermediate Part II/Course B Certificate in Technical related subjects.
iv. Federal Craft Certificate with at least a pass in four academic subjects including English Language, Mathematics and Science related subjects or
v. Federal Craft Certificate with at least pass in four academic subjects including English Language, Mathematics and Science.
vi. T.C, II Certificate with at least four passes in English, Mathematics and Science related subjects.
vii. National Business and Technical Education Board (N.B.T.E.B.) certificate with at least 4 passes including English Language and Mathematics.
Pre-NCE Business Studies
i. WASSC/NECO (SSC)/GCE ‘O’ Level with four passes at a sitting or 5 passes at two sittings including English Language, Mathematics and Business related subjects i.e. Accounting, Commerce, Economics and Shorthand.
ii. Teachers Grade II Certificate with at least, a pass in English Language, Mathematics/Arithmetic processes, Integrated Sciences, Geography or Social Studies.
iii. National Business and Technical Education Board Certificate with at least four passes including English Language and Mathematics.

Pre-NCE Nigerian Languages
i. WASSC/NECO (SSC)/GCE (O/L), with passes in at least four subjects at a sitting, one of which must be at credit level in either English Language or Literature in English at least a pass in one of the three major Nigerian Languages (Hausa, Igbo and Yoruba).
ii. WASSC/NECO (SSC)/GCE (O/L) with at least, five passes at two sittings including a credit in English Language, or Literature in English and a Nigerian Language or
iii. A Teachers’ Grade II Certificate with at least a pass in a Nigerian Language.
Pre-NCE French
i. WASSC/NECO (SSC)/GCE (O/L), with at least, four subjects at a sitting one of which must be at credit and include English Language or English Literature or
ii. A Complete Teachers’ Grade II Certificate.
Pre-NCE Music
i. WASSC/NECO (SSC)/GCE (O/L), SSC with passes in at least, four subjects at a sitting, one of which must be at credit level in either English Language (Hausa, Igbo and Yoruba) or
ii. WASSC/NECO (SSC)/GCE with at least, five passes at two sittings including a credit in English Language, or Literature in English or
iii. A Complete Teachers’ Grade II Certificate.
Pre-NCE Social Studies
i. SSCE/GCE (O/L) with 4 passes at a sitting or 5 passes at two sittings including English Language and two Social Science related subjects, preferably Economics and Geography.
ii. A Complete Teachers Grade II Certificate with at least a pass in Economics, Geography and Social Studies.
